Viet MV views equate to popularity

The number of views can be the most important indicator to a music video's popularity and coverage.

With the wide emergence of singers, V-POP is gradually falling into a situation of intense competition. To develop their singing career, artists are required to find news methods and directions that can attract the attention of their audience.

With the diversity and quality of their music, MV content, choreography in addition to fresh images, names like My Tam, 365DaBand and Uyen Linh,
have cemented their position in the V-POP battle scene. This has been clearly shown in the number of views and discussions surrounding the music videos of the aforementioned artists.

Like a dream - My Tam

My Tam is the first Viet star to have her own channel on the popular video sharing site, YouTube. She has not only received special attention from her fans, but from those who love V-POP as well. My Tam has always made headlines with the tremendous number of views her MVs receives. After making miracles with "Black and White", "Like No Beginning" and "My Friend", My Tam officially broke her own record with "Like a Dream."

Just a week after being released, "Like a Dream" achieved 500,000 views. Not only so, the video boasted her subscribers by 70,000, placing her total number of subscribers to 200,000.

Similar to her previous releases, "Like a Dream" contained all the essential elements to create a hit song. Unique backdrops, sophisticated angles, a set decorated to the last detail, an emotional and strong voice and an impressive dance that is hard to believe created the perfection that is "Like a Dream."

GET ON THE FLOOR - 365DaBand

Even before its release, GET ON THE FLOOR created a lot of buzz as it was revealed that the MV cost up to 9 digits (VND). This number is truly immense when compared to the average cost of other V-POP MVs. However, Get on the Floor has to be commended by everyone as being "worth its dollar."

Besides the trendy music, fashion and healthy voices, GET ON THE FLOOR creates an impression of a boldness and personality, completely different to other artists in V-POP. As a result, just after a week of being uploaded, Get on the Floor garnered more than 500,000 views, in addition to thousands of likes and discussion from music fans. Moreover, the MV appeared on SBS Australia's PopAsia and Seed FM Radio, one of the top radio stations in Thailand.

In order to have sufficient footage for GET ON THE FLOOR's MV, 365DaBand had to tread night and day on the sand dunes of Phan Thiet - Binh Thuan, bearing a professional and dedicated attitude. The hard work of the five idol stars, however, paid off well.

Cho nguoi noi ay - Uyen Linh

Labelled as one of the most memorable V-POP songs for the first half of 2013, Cho Nguoi Noi Ay presents a feeling of pleasantness with its strange melody. The song is one of Huy Tuan's composition and was included as an OST for "My Nhan Ke."

Immediately after release, Cho Nguoi Noi Ai quickly attracted 300,000 views on YouTube. It was a great topic of discussion in online portals and was shared at a dizzying rate. One of the most important factors that contributed to the success of the song was the immaculate presentation by the songstress, Uyen Linh. Her deep voice coupled with a strong tone, Uyen Linh easily captured the audience's love.

Mat Tri Nho - Chi Dan

Mat Tri Nho can be considered one of the hottest hits of 2012. The song captured initial attention because it was Nyugen Hong Quang's, a Vietnam Idol 2012 contestant, composition. It was only until Chi Dan covered the song again that it became phenomenon, reaching wider audiences. Still a young singer, Chi Dan was able to defeat numerous competitors in the Viet music scene.

With much investment in image, elaborate scripts, a meaningful story and a sweet voice, Chi Dan seemed to have revived Mat Tri Nho and presented to the audience to perspective that is completely different to the original version by Nguyen Hong Quang. The MV easily achieved 100,000 views in less than two days, and did not stop rising in the following days. However, many people supposed that the success of Mat Tri Nho was not due to the song's quality, but rather the effects of the media and the curiosity of the audience.
